Public Opening Celebration: along the high embankments
Sunday, June 7, 2026 (4:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (PDT)
Description
Join Corazon del Pueblo, Los Angeles Nomadic Division (LAND) and Presqu'ile Winery for the opening celebration of Cole Sternberg’s along the high embankments, a new site-specific installation at Presqu'ile in Santa Maria, CA.

We hope to see you on Sunday, June 7 any time between 4-7PM for family activities, live music, wine, food and an opening blessing. Sternberg was invited to respond to an empty concrete bunker located on the property of Presqu’ile Winery, the building unused by humans for years, yet quietly occupied by other species, nature slowly reclaiming it. Like the process of winemaking, his paintings emerge from an alchemical transformation. Made in collaboration with the elements — soil, wind, sun, and water — they reveal themselves over time. The installation becomes a record of this place, this moment. Just as the landscape is shaped by both natural and human interventions, it will continue to evolve.
An email from LAND to follow, closer to the event date, with parking and wayfinding details.
along the high embankments will be open Saturdays and Sundays from12-5PM from Sunday, June 7 through September 20, 2026.
