CALM was created in 1970 by Claire Miles, a local nurse, in order to reach stressed parents before they hurt their children. CALM continues to be the only non-profit agency in Santa Barbara County focused solely on preventing and treating childhood trauma. We offer children and families a safe, non-judgmental, caring and strength based environment to heal and increase family well-being. Our programs are evidence based and culturally sensitive. All services are offered in both English and Spanish. No one is turned away for inability to pay.
